Glossary Term

Corporate In-Kind Donations

A form of corporate philanthropy where a company contributes non-monetary assets (such as physical goods, equipment, software licenses, or specialized professional services) directly to a nonprofit organization to support its operations or programs.

Why It Matters

For Corporations

An excellent way to leverage existing business inventory, supply chains, or employee skill sets for social good. Providing in-kind assets allows corporate teams to clear warehouse space, maximize the social impact of surplus goods, and secure corporate tax deductions based on the fair market value of the property or products donated.

For Nonprofits

A powerful cost-saving mechanism that drastically reduces operational and overhead expenses. Receiving direct assets (such as laptops for staff, building materials for facilities, or pro-bono legal consulting) allows organizations to reallocate their limited cash reserves directly toward core community programming.
